Our team of process engineers & product managers, working closely together, are poised to scale our core intelligent automation platforms led products & capabilities across our HQ processes, field operations and guest engagement touchpoints. Our vision is to continually transform our retail operations with a digital workforce equipping our team members to drive exceptional guest experience. Our products today, leverage ML/ AI advancements to drive cognitive task & process automation as well as NLP led chat & voice commerce platforms to drive the future of guest engagement & experience. We focus on holistic value stream/ process improvement, to prioritise ease of execution experience over just efficiencies, and deep process (re)engineering ahead of tech modernization or automation.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

As a Director of Process Engineering you will lead:

  • Enabling modernization of our operations, drive efficiency, and enhance the guest experience
    • Lead co-creation and ownership of the long term strategy, vision, value and roadmap for workforce process transformation across our field, guest & HQ teams
    • Lead pyramid/ business, product & engineering leadership engagement (operating models) to deliver goals
    • Co-create industry leading tech capability vision with our product team
      • Conversational AI Platform:  Define and build a unified experience across Stores, FRS, and HR.
      • Robotics Process Automation Platform:  Expand capabilities to other business areas
    • Drive continuous improvement of enterprise processes that support TII priorities.

  • Connecting dots on process, data and technology across the retail value stream to support guest and team outcomes
    • Create a framework for the Process Engineering + Intelligent Automation life cycle
    • Lead a small team of process engineers to enable deep process discovery, gap identification, business tech modernization roadmap review to enable intelligent automation.
  • Building & fostering diverse, inclusive and engaged teams
    • Retain, advance and share our talented team and build a talent strategy
    • Clearly define team roles, responsibilities and how they fit into the enterprise
    • Foster an inclusive & diverse culture
    • Develop team talent routines that foster team and personal growth and development

You will need to cultivate strong relationships across the enterprise to drive collaboration and alignment with key partners and stakeholders across pyramids on both process and technology. You will be responsible for supporting the business and bringing judgement on addressing critical enablers such as required management decisions, resolution of cross-program interdependencies, and resource gaps. In partnership with Sr Director+, Sr. Leadership, and Pyramid Leadership, you will develop critical leadership updates, risk and issue management, and resource deployment to achieve desired outcomes.

Value Articulation and Prioritization: Leads business value stream and process discovery led prioritization for intelligent automation product teams. Accountable to achieve and deliver the value in support of the overall PIA vision. Provide guidance and mentoring to process engineering & product leaders on the team

Communication: Owns the outward strategic communication plan of PIA strategy and execution to senior stakeholders (written, oral, demo, other). Lead executive leader engagement to show benefits and value.

About You:

  • 4-year or advanced degree in Business or Engineering
  • A minimum of 12+ years of experience in enterprise wide continuous improvement roles with deep expertise in implementation of improvements at the operations level
  • Strong problem solving, synthesizing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive high impact, cross-functional programs with senior leaders and overcome cultural challenges
  • An understanding of industry operational excellence practices and the competitive retail landscape
  • Strong knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma (Master Black Belt)
  • Experience with Intelligent Automation implementation (e.g., Robotics Process Automation, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Conversational AI)
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, and work under ambiguous circumstances
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Strong written, oral, communication, networking, and presentation skills
  • Experience leading, motivating, and developing direct reports.
  • Demonstrated and measurable experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean in an operations and business environment.
  • Occasional domestic and international travel required (about 10% of the time)
