Team Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Digital Analytics Implementation Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining digital analytics data collection and

instrumentation across Target’s digital properties. You will work closely with analysts, data platform owners, and engineering teams to ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and analysis of website and

application data.

Position Overview

Implement and administer digital analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, Google Analytics) on websites, mobile apps, and other digital platforms
- Develop and maintain tracking plans, requirement specifications, and tagging strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-platform engineering (iOS, Android, web) to ensure proper integration of analytics tracking code and adherence to data collection standards.
- Conduct quality assurance testing and validation of analytics implementations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data variances, tracking errors, or data feed discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain documentation for analytics implementations, processes, and best practices
- Provide training and support to internal teams on analytics tools and data interpretation
- Analyze and report on website and application performance metrics, user behavior, and conversion data
- Identify opportunities for optimization and provide recommendations for improving data quality and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with the latest analytics technologies, industry trends, and best practices

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
    8+ years of experience in digital analytics implementation and configuration
    - Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and other web technologies
    - Strong understanding of digital analytics tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Mixpanel)
    - Experience with tag management systems (e.g., Google Tag Manager, Tealium)
    - Familiarity with data layer concepts and implementation
    - Knowledge of data privacy regulations and best practices

    - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; attention to detail
    - Strong communication and collaboration abilities
    - Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

    Preferred Qualifications
    - Experience with mobile app analytics and in-app event tracking
    - Experience working within an agile framework
    - Experience communicating requirements to platform engineering and product team members
    - Knowledge of A/B testing and experimentation platforms
    - Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker)
    - Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
