Guest shopping behavior has changed over the last 3-4 years, our guests are more price conscious and digitally savvy having all means to compare prices in the market at any time. Hence, our guests shopping behavior requires us to be priced competitively online as well as in stores. Re-establishing value price leadership is a key part of Target's strategic roadmap. In order to deliver what our demanding enthusiastic guests want from Target; we need to understand how our guests shop and develop a framework with guardrails to tailor our prices by categories.

Primary Function:

As a Lead Pricing Specialist in the Everyday Pricing team, you will be responsible for all pricing-related queries and price change requests, as well as communication and engagement with the Buying and Store Insights teams. You'll be in charge of troubleshooting reg pricing issues for affected stores and executing price adjustments at the enterprise level in response to requests from the buying team in order to keep our promise of deliver affordability to guests. Lead Pricing Specialists will serve as pricing support specialists at a business (frequency or discretionary) level.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of everyday pricing processes and tools to answer store questions and to handle pricing requests from buyers
  • Drive self-guided resolution for store and / or buyer queries with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Identify hot issues/trends, triage on root cause and propose solutions for consistent store pricing issues
  • Perform routine sanity checks & review historical trends before making price adjustments in order to ensure we provide an accurate & consistent price experience to guests
  • Meet and exceed goals on key performance indicators including quality, productivity and utilization
  • Manage deliverables which are defined with some deviation from normal practice which results in needing some analysis, problem solving and recommendation of solutions
  • Actively responds to workload volumes by managing responsibilities and re-prioritizing effectively
  • Develop process best methods, documents and communicate to stakeholders to ensure process consistency
  • Pursue and deliver on process improvements that bring significant impact to key performance indicators and / or significant dollar impact
  • Solve problems of low/medium complexity and assist analysts on high complexity projects
  • Manages at least one additional responsibility, taking on open responsibilities and supports pricing analysts with pricing or metadata updates during key events
  • Measure and report via dashboards key KPI metrics such as quality, efficiency, timeliness etc. and demonstrate accountability for the same
  • Provides guidance and training to other specialists in the immediate team
  • Follow operational hygiene (Project management practices, quality assurance, time tracker)

Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Reporting/Working relationships

  • Reports to Senior Manager, Every day Pricing. Works closely with Everyday Pricing team, Buying team, Store Insights team and Price & Stores Product teams.

About you:

  • Graduate: 2 to 4 yrs. experience (Any stream)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office & O365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, & SharePoint) and basic knowledge in Domo/Greenfield
  • Basic knowledge of continuous improvements techniques, problem solving skills and should be detail oriented
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive environment.

Preferences:

  • Prior retail/e-commerce experience
  • Salesforce tool knowledge
  • Work experience of 2 years in Retail Operations
