We’re also the source of the data and analytics behind Target’s Internet of Things (iOT) applications, fraud detection, Supply Chain optimization and demand forecasting. We play a key role in identifying the test-and-measure or A/B test opportunities that continuously help Target improve the guest experience, whether they love to shop in stores or at Target.com.

Here, you’ll leverage data, statistics and visualization to create the actionable insights that deliver value across all Target functions. Our savvy reporting and analytics pros use market-leading tools and data automation to make a positive impact that’s felt across the business. If you’re an analyst who can work on autonomous teams, integrate the latest practices with your approach, write code to handle massive scale, simplify complex decisions by providing flexible, fast and sustainable decision-making solutions, then you’ll be successful here. As a Senior Manager Data Analytics you will be responsible for supporting our efforts to help Target make better data driven decisions around team through analytics and insight.  In this role you’ll serve as an advocate of our data-driven culture, leading a team of analysts, while also directly contributing to conducting analysis and providing strategic recommendations.   You will accomplish this through a wide variety of skills, demonstrating them yourself and insuring quality across your team.  Skills include: data wrangling, dashboarding, visualization, statistical analysis, modeling, and the presentation of recommendations and insight.  You will work within and lead others in an agile environment, which requires active participation in ceremonies to accomplish the team’s goals.  You will also develop domain knowledge as you learn about the business area.

About You:

  • 8-12 years of overall Industry experience with 6-8years in data eco system
  • Build a high performing team through talent pipeline planning, hiring, setting clear expectations and performance management. 
  • Lead a team of data analysts providing strategic guidance on projects and development guidance, which help build Target’s future leaders
  • Foster innovation to develop practical solutions to long standing problems
  • Ability to work independently and coach others to turn business problems into data solutions
  • Has strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity
  • Experience working with Product teams and business leaders to develop product roadmaps and feature development.
  • Ability to lead change, establish direction and work through conflict and setbacks
  • Demonstrates understanding of capabilities available in data and analytical tools
    (e.g. Hadoop,  Postgres, or equivalent) and a deep understanding of core DW/BI concepts
  • Strong SQL or PL/SQL, Python programming & Unix shell scripting skills
  • Understanding of analytical techniques like Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Time-series models, Classification Techniques, etc.
  • Proven ability to collaborate, communicate effectively with partner teams and influence others. Experience working in an agile environment (stories, backlog refinement, sprints, etc.)
  • Any experience with Retail, Merchandising, Marketing will be strong addons
  • B.Tech / B.E. or Masters in Statistics /Econometrics/Mathematics/Management equivalent
