  • Leadership:  Uses leadership strategies that promote business understanding, trust, accountability, communication, recognition and consistency.  Owns team performance by recognizing strong performance and when performance is not meeting expectations hold team members accountable by taking appropriate corrective disciplinary action including termination of team members. Recommends for promotional opportunities as appropriate. Promote the performance development of Team Leads through timely completion of performance reviews. Identifies projects and training to develop team members.
  • Vendor Relations - Supports team in working with vendors regarding invoices, chargeback's and collections resolutions. Builds partnerships with all levels of vendor management to improve payment processes.  Seeks and implements long-term solutions to prevent future invoice disputes.
  • Analysis: Analyzes reports pertaining to Merchandise Payable including reports identifying what chargebacks are being canceled. Ensures accuracy of vendor payments and identifies potential issues with carriers or vendors.
  • Merchandising Relations - Develops partnerships with merchandising group to proactively improve profitability and processes.  Promotes a team approach with merchandising to prioritize and resolve vendor issues.  Understands Merchant reporting and profitability and the impact that Accounts Payable has on merchant financials. 
  • Coaching/Consultant - Provides support and delivers effective and timely feedback to Business Teams in helping team resolve business and personnel issues.  Manages multiple teams with both exempt and nonexempt team members. Coaches Team Leads in providing effective leadership to their teams.  Facilitates processes to help teams make sound analytical/fact-based decisions.
  • Performance Management - Establishes and monitors productivity and quality performance measurements to track operational results at the individual, team, and department level. Supports recognition programs to encourage superior performance. Coaches team members to continuously improve.  Drives ideas into action through a proactive and strategic approach to the business.  Motivates others toward achievement of goals.  
  • Personnel Planning- Analyzes and manages staffing requirements to support business needs.  Helps develop, communicate, and implement personnel policy with Human Resources Coordinator.  Develops Business Unit Analyst's and Team Leads and team members.  Recommends for promotional opportunities as appropriate.  Identifies projects and training to develop team members.  Identifies and executes team building opportunities.
  • Management Support- Interacts with Accounts Payable Managers to present key projects and initiatives that support improved productivity.
  • Special Projects- Represents A/P on taskforces and participates in and/or leads special projects or tasks forces.

Requirements

  • Post Graduate or Graduate in Accounting.
  • Total experience of 6+ yrs in financial operations of which 4 years should be in a supervisory role.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and good judgment in keeping up to date with the business.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant applications - MS Office etc.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills
