Role Description:

As Senior Manager, Performance and Insights  you will be responsible for leading a team driving cutting edge analysis for vendors running advertising campaigns with Roundel (Target’s Media Network). The core competency of this role is to handle performance analysis for multiple clients, identify upsell opportunities, correlate data from various sources to drive campaign performance, create new analysis frameworks to address marketing objectives, and use expert data storytelling to influence the vendor’s media strategy/investment decisions.

You should be an analytical thinker who can conduct in-depth analysis of media campaigns and craft strategic insights, to deliver a great guest experience. You should be curious, proactive, and detail-oriented. You should be comfortable with hands-on involvement with data analysis, and enjoy digging into various data sources to find trends, anomalies, and insights. You must be keen to learn in-depth implementation of various analytics and measurement tools at Target. You should be proficient at data analysis, research, and storyboarding.

You should have experience building trusted relationships with vendor accounts and play a pivotal role in influencing their decisions using data. You’ll need to partner with media operations and account managers to understand the objectives, define ways to measure success. You will need to as a subject matter expert in digital media and measurement to not only the Performance & Insights team, but across all stakeholders in the Roundel organization.

You should have experience in leading and managing teams, mentoring team members, doing career discussions.

Responsibilities:

  • Team management –
    • Ability to drive and motivate a team to deliver on client objectives.
    • Draw on expertise in Insights, program and client management to coach team through problem solving, process, and analysis
  • Subject Matter Expertise -
    • Act as a subject matter expert for the team, on topics of market trends, digital media, guest behavior, measurement metrics, platforms, and analytics – in the retail industry and at Target. Provide media expertise, perspective, and advice.
  • Client Management -
    • Build and maintain trusted, long-lasting relationships with multiple clients. Identify touchpoints and ways of working with clients, to increase their trust in Roundel.
    • Understand client objectives and constraints clearly, prioritize focus areas, and leverage campaign performance analysis to help them address these.
    • Identify ways to track and measure our client impact.
    • Drive strong relationships and trust with Account Managers. Provide them with data, ideas, and insights to increase client engagement and investment.
  • Insights & Reporting -
    • Create impactful campaign performance reports, condensing complex data sets into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
    • Continuously identify opportunities to improve performance of campaigns, with the objective of growing the account.
    • Lead the creation of customized quarterly/annual reviews, to influence the client’s planning and investment decisions.
    • Leverage sharp storyboarding skills to address clients’ unique marketing objectives and business problems.

About You:

  • Education & Experience
    • Minimum 9 to 12 years of experience in the digital media/advertising domain.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (computer science, statistics, or related).
    • Master’s degree in a quantitative or business field.

    • People leadership experience – Have set up teams, coached and mentored team members
    • Exceptional stakeholder/ client management skills - Ability to handle difficult client conversations. Ease in identifying and discussing incremental investment opportunities.
    • Genuine curiosity about how things work, and the drive to dig into data to understand the ‘why’.

    • Open to new ideas, experimenting with data, and building concepts.
    • Proficient at conceptualizing and implementing solutions for business problems.

    • Proficient at internal and external stakeholder management, with excellent relationship building skills.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills.
    • Ability to multi-task and work within a rapidly changing environment.
    • Easily work in cross-functional teams, with seamless collaboration.
  • Domain Knowledge
    • Exceptional understanding of the digital media measurement methodologies, and related analytics tools.
    • Knowledge of digital ad servers, Ad Networks and the overall landscape.
    • Ability to judge and quantify results of advertising.
    • Clear understanding of reporting dimensions and metrics of various ad/reporting servers - DFP, DCM, FB ad manager, Criteo etc.
    • Understand true value of ROI, impact of results, compare actual results to benchmarks, and know what to do with this information.
    • Expertise in creating quantitative, metric-driven performance recaps for media campaigns, along with actionable recommendations for improving performance.
  • Tools
    • Expert in PPT, Microsoft Excel. (DOMO, Tableau, Adobe Site Catalyst – are good to have)
    • Expert in the digital media measurement platforms, ad/reporting services and tools (Google, Amazon, Criteo, Facebook, others…) that were used at previous organization.
