ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to be a part of Target’s digital acceleration in supporting the growth of Target’s marketplace Target Plus. Target Plus is a differentiated marketplace platform that aims to offer guests a seamless online shopping experience through curated sellers (partners) and assortment.

In this role, you will support the Partner Engagement & Experience space, which is critical to ensure that our Partners (what we call Sellers) have a great experience selling on our Platform and that through their engagement they maximize their business on our Platform. The scope of the Partner Experience & Engagement team includes monitoring the experience & engagement of our Partners and managing the tactics to drive that improved experience and engagement - Partner programs and incentives, email communicationtraining content & learning management, webinars, Help Center, and overall branding of our Partner experience. Partner Experience & Engagement falls under our broader Partner Experience & Strategic Projects team that cares for the holistic roadmap for large strategic initiatives within our Target Plus platform and the rollout / communication of those changes to our Partner base.

In this role, you will help transform the training & learning management space to set our business up for accelerated growth and our Partners up for quick success on our Platform. The scope of this role will focus on developing a vision for the self-service training experience on our learning management system and creating a training plan inclusive of modules with learning objectives, content, and assessments. You will partner closely with the Partner Experience and Engagement team to ensure the vision for the Learning Management System and the training experience fits into the broader vision for the Partner Experience.

This role will require you to work well in a cross-functional and shared authority space as you will work closely with two distinct teams to drive forward the vision for this training space. This role will require a high degree of self-initiative and independence given the new role and the global partnership with Minneapolis based Partner Experience & Strategic Projects as well as their counterparts in Target India. It will require further cross-functional engagement across the broader Marketplace team (Acquisition, Item, Category Management, Partner Services, Support & Performance) as you will be required to engage subject matter experts in building and revising training content. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate superior communication skills, high accountability and cross-functional leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learning Strategy Formation
    • Determine current and future learning needs by understanding the end-to-end Partner journey and analyzing business goals and priorities
    • Create a vision for the self-service training experience
    • Become team expert on training.
    • Partner with Onboarding team and Partner Experience & Engagement team on Learning Management System capabilities and features
  • Training Program Development & Implementation
    • Develop learning programs based on Partner tier, category or other needs as outlined by the business.
    • Use appropriate instructional design tactics, tool and media to meet design objectives.
    • Plan and direct implementation for learning experiences in the Learning Management System
    • Create training content with support from subject matter experts and marketing & creative team.
    • Create learning assessments.
  • Training Program Evaluation
    • Evaluate effectiveness of learning experiences
    • Identify and amplify examples of impact to show what’s working well and how it is driving business impact.
  • Determine opportunities for training utilization to deliver business and performance objectives from our Partner base (existing partners, Prom utilization, returns, content health, webinars, etc)
  • Complete ongoing and routine competitive benchmarking on training & learning conttent

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3- 4 year college degree  
  • 8 -10 years’ experience in core learning function including training needs analysis, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating training or performance improvement programs.  
  • Background in either facilitation and/or design thinking 
  • Expertise in e-learning program design and strategy, with experience working with LMS and e-learning authoring tools
  • Expert consulting skills (includes ability to lead, communicate, influence and demonstrate strong executive presence, business acumen and strategic mindset) 
  • Excellent project management/organization skills with the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively. 
  • Strong initiative and drive for results 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and a desire to spend a considerable amount of time writing and editing. 
  • Analytical skills to be able to evaluate training programs, methods, and materials; gather insights and choose the best learning solution that best fit each situation.
