Tax Analyst

Working within Tax, your mission will be to drive value-added work and support our core retail business goals.  Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams.

As a Tax Analyst in [specific group]Tax, you will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the [specific group] tax functions.  This role primarily supports the [compliance, technology, accounting, planning or controversy type] processes which includes [examples of the specific deliverables of this role]. 

As a Tax Analyst, you will gather and analyze data necessary to support our tax compliance, accounting, forecasting and audit processes; prepare of tax workpapers, returns and payment filings; perform account reconciliations; and engage with governmental agents and external advisors.  In this role, you will utilize automation tools and technology such as Alteryx, cloud based file sharing systems, and OCR, to execute your processes efficiently and minimize manual errors.  You will also leverage your tax expertise, communication skills, and business process knowledge when assisting with responses to tax inquiries from internal and external business partners.  You will foster your personal development by remaining current with tax and industry trends and gain experiences with emerging technology to support a meaningful career.

  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax or accounting function, or tax experience with a public accounting firm is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient in work processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Experience with [insert systems focus] systems is preferred

Property Tax

As a Tax Analyst in Property Tax, you will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the real estate and personal property tax functions.  This role primarily supports the compliance and accounting processes which includes maintaining accurate property tax database records, reviewing landlord tax bills to confirm they accurately reflect our lease contract terms prior to payment, and prepare tax payment requests to ensure property tax bills are timely paid.

About you:

  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax or accounting function, or tax experience with a public accounting firm is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient in work processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Experience with iTAM Link or similar property tax software and SAP or similar ERP software is preferred

Sales Tax

As a Tax Analyst in Sales Tax, you will be responsible for assisting on various aspects of the sales and use tax functions.  This role primarily supports the sales and use tax compliance and item taxability processes which includes the preparation of sales and use tax returns and payments, setting up item taxability decisions in our tax systems, and gathering data to support our compliance and audit needs. 

About you:

  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax or accounting function, or tax experience with a public accounting firm is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient in work processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Experience with Vertex or similar sales tax software and SAP or similar ERP software is preferred

Income Tax

As a Tax Analyst in Income Tax, you will be responsible for assisting with various aspects of the federal, state, and international income functions.  This role primarily supports the income tax compliance and accounting processes which includes the preparation of income tax returns and payments, maintaining accurate income tax database records, and gathering data to support our compliance and audit needs. 

About you:

  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Previous experience in a corporate tax or accounting function, or tax experience with a public accounting firm is strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate prioritization and ensuring adherence to deadlines
  • Detail oriented, organized and efficient in work processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, ability to work within multiple systems, and high proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Experience with OneSource or similar tax software and SAP or similar ERP software is preferred
