The pay range is $125,600.00 - $226,100.00

The People Analytics & Insights team mission is to empower a data driven approach to HR and people decisions regarding our global workforce. We are uniquely positioned to provide unbiased insights to unlock value and drive outcomes and to enable and influence HR and business strategy.

As a Director, People Analytics & Insights overseeing the Listening function, you will be responsible for developing and defining the short and long-term enterprise-wide Listening strategy to enable Target to be the forefront of the industry in driving business outcomes through Listening programs. In this critical and highly visible role, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of an enterprise-wide Listening program agenda that includes but is not limited to engagement measurement, continuous listening, and journey measurement.
  • Leverage sentiment data to drive business outcomes, including delivering insights to frontline leaders, using data to drive strategic decisions and investments, and preparing and presenting insights for the Executive leadership team and Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate and influence across the enterprise outside of HR, not limited to but specifically including Guest Insights, Enterprise Risk, Legal, and Communications.
  • Maintain a position as a thought leader in the field of People Analytics and listening, engaging in and bringing back the best ideas and benchmarks from peers and fellow experts in the field, also helping to place Target as the industry employer of choice in retail.
  • Establish and lead a team of highly skilled social/behavioral scientists who will create, analyze, and deliver data and insights for key partners throughout the business.
  • Own the design and build of Listening dashboards that will be scaled and delivered to the entire organization, including leaders and HR partners.
  • Implement sentiment data governance and best practices to balance democratizing insights with protecting confidentiality and maintaining trust with team members.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Cultivate a team culture focused on inclusivity, continuous learning, and development.

About You:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in a social/behavioral science field such as Industrial Organizational Psychology or related fields
  • 10+ years relevant work experience, plus 5+ years HR and People Analytics experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of listening professionals
  • Strong expertise in behavioral science as it relates to measuring and analyzing employee sentiment in the workplace
  • Strong statistical expertise to understand the relevance and validity of mathematical models for the purpose of generating insights from listening and other operational data
  • Demonstrated experience achieving results through building enterprise relationships and using formal and informal influence across the business
  • Comprehensive understanding of Retail, Human Resources, and People Analytics
  • Able to set strategic direction leveraging internal and external information
  • Experience leading a team, with experience leading a Listening team strongly desired
  • Able to think critically, resourcefully solve problems and confidently make decisions
  • Continuous learner; stays current with new and evolving technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting to senior leaders

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid (known internally at Target as "Flex for Your Day") work arrangement based on Target's needs.  A Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that's not a Target location, does not have a desk at a Target location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.  A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role may be performed either remote or onsite at a Target location depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location, unless otherwise prescribed by Target.
