BUSINESS CAPABILITIES AND IMPACT
The mission of the Core Commerce engineering team is to provide the enterprise platform that allows our guests to buy items easily, securely and fast in our 1870+ stores and onTarget.com. We do this by building PCI secure micro-services that handle the payments Target accepts in stores and Target.com and settlement of the payments, build innovative Search and Relevancy tools with advance AI and Data Science to make it easy and convenient for findabality of products for Guests, provide up to date inventory availability for Target.com and Stores so guests feel confident when they add items to there cart, orchestrate the creation of the checkout experience including prices, promotions and taxes on top of the items and payment for stores and Target.com and ingest orders that can be modified after checkout by guests or split up and sent to multiple destinations.

CI/CD: Code Pipelines like Docker, Drone, Vela, Spinnaker, Testing frameworks, Gatling
Languages and Frameworks like Spring Boot, Java, Kotlin, Micronaut, REST, Gradle
Databases like Postgres, Cassandra, Mongo, Influx, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch), Solr
Distributed event streaming platform like Kafka
Metrics visualizations like Grafana
Log aggregation with Logstash and Kibana
Cloud platforms like GCP , VMAAS, TAP
Elastic compute platforms like Kubernetes
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
4-year degree or equivalent experience
5+ years of software development experience
Demonstrates strong domain-specific knowledge regarding Target’s technology capabilities, and key competitors’ products and differentiating features
Working knowledge on package-specific configuration and deployment along with ability to build custom solutions
Designs new testing methods and resolves routine and non-routine technical issues with minimal assistance
Demonstrates strong proficiency in core development platforms within own domain
Builds strong commitment within the team to support the appropriate team priorities
Clearly communicates Agile concepts to partners within product team
Demonstrates a solid understanding of the impact of own work on the team and/or guests
Writes and organizes code using multiple computer languages, including distributed programming and understand different frameworks and paradigm
Delivers high-performance, scalable, repeatable, and secure deliverables with broad impact (high throughput and low latency)
Influences and applies data standards, policies, and procedures
Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise
Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
