The Financial and Retail Services (FRS) organization is close to the action when it comes to communication—whether with guests or Target team members. From guest service professionals and product designers, to vendor managers and financial and workforce management analysts, FRS comprises several key and high-visibility areas that elevate and nurture Target’s distinctive reputation. Beyond our world-class contact centers, there are many important challenges to be met in other FRS teams like the FRS Operations and Product Team, which plays at the intersections of process and technology, and Contact Center Support Services (SCSO) which develops comprehensive service delivery strategies for our contact centers. FRS Product Design manages and grows loyalty, frequency and other marketing programs for all Payment Cards (RedCard, GiftCard). Our Bank Program and included credit risk and compliance functions manage Merchandise Finance, Capital Finance, Expense Management and Financial Goals and Forecasts. And the FRS Controller heads up FRS Accounting and Financial Operations, including Accounting and Control, Retail Bankcard Services, Target Card Services, Fraud Prevention & Dispute Resolution.
As part of the FP&S group, the Prepaid Team, develops products, enables functionality and curates Guest centric, localized, assortments that place prepaid products into the guest’s hands through all available channels. It creates category strategies, owns forecasting and financial planning and develops pricing and promotional strategies. The Prepaid Team manages a comprehensive supply-chain that executes inventory optimization strategies to ensure our inventory is available at the right time, in the right places. It works across the enterprise to envision and advocate for the future, manages product assortments, proactively prevents fraud and unlocks the future of prepaid based on the differing needs of our Guests.
As a Sr. Manager – Category Management, you will join the Prepaid Team with responsibility for the industry leading Target GiftCard program across internal channels, Target stores and Digital. You will help shape and develop a multi-year roadmap for Target’s Gift Cards as well as other financial products and services to help strengthen Target’s relationship with millions of Guests by providing inspiring, intuitive, and accessible products that exceed expectations. The role will oversee all functions of category and product management, including assortment planning, product development, promotions, merchandising, and supply chain operations. You will lead and motivate a team of planning and operations analysts with responsibility for their growth and development. As Prepaid serves an important role in supporting Target’s strategy, you will engage with partners across the organization to drive sales and market share, loyalty, and brand goals.

- Lead a team of analysts in achieving category goals
- Manage Target GiftCards and service products (merchandise return/promotional GCs):
- Operate across internal channels, stores and digital
- Manage revenue growth, financial plans and P&L management
- Develop roadmap strategies for gifting and self-use products
- Manage omni-channel merchandising strategies
- Create promotional and loyalty strategies
- Oversee inventory management and supply chain operations
- Deliver financial and data analytics - performance, trends, tests, etc.
- Understand and leverage competitor and market benchmarking
- Provide strategic guidance to external vendor resources
- Participate in strategy development within Prepaid and the Financial Products and Services ecosystem
- Develop strong internal and external cross-functional partnership and buy-in
- Motivate, coach and develop your team as well as the broader Prepaid Team
- Four year college degree
- Minimum of 5-8 years relevant experience
- Category/product/brand management or buying preferred
- Team leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong partnerships
- Strong entrepreneurship ownership

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location.A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year.
Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is $85,000 - 153,700.
