PRIMARY FUNCTION
Facility elevation through technical consultation to drive for continuous improvement of manufacturing processes through RMFA CAPA.
Process enhancements with emphasis on quality and cost parameters, in order to improve the effectiveness of the whole supply chain of Target, with ultimate goal of providing value to The Guests.
Business acumen consisting of quality and fabric manufacturing. Actively influence decision-making and address business needs through active engagement with CFT/business partners.
Advance analytics and reporting on TM, 3rd parties,supplier and facility performance with a feedback loop.
Resolve issues associated with guest concerns, validate root cause, provide insights, establish SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) related to products, build improvement models within facility and develop confidence within Target’s supply chain.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Key Competency Expectation
Product and Technical knowledge
Master of raw material manufacturing and production
Deep understanding of product and manufacturing process risk assessment and mitigation
Ability to de-construct diverse and ever evolving manufacturing processes
Understand process management - able to determine the critical processes to quality and its controls to prevent or mitigate potential issues/risks
Build one's own technical expertise in multiple categories in a structural and systematic way.
Supplier matrix & third party lab Management
Develop performance metrics and measurement systems to help quantify operational performance of fabric suppliers
Evaluate the health of the matrix leveraging data: through quality principles, assessment and elevation of vendors and factories QMS
Work with third party labs and managing projects related to facility audit
Quality Strategy and Management
Understand and be able to assess the effectiveness of a facility’s preventive QMS and its sustainability, across varying manufacturing processes
Provide/drive continuous improvement of a facility’s quality management system, shifting focus from detection to prevention
Plan for quality through preventive product risk mitigation & facility capability assessment
Strategic overview of the facility matrix in order to prioritize and identify areas of opportunity to drive elevation through the RMFA CAPA.
Data/Reporting and Analytical thinking
Ability to review data and conduct statistical analysis from TQE (technical, quality and engineering) perspective.
Leverage data to identify opportunities for calibration, continuous improvement and problem-solving.
Drive supply chain performance metrics development.
Extensive use of quantifiable data and KPIs in decision-making.
2. Communication/CFT Collaboration/Training
Share lessons learned in quality planning activities and core processes.
Successfully navigate through tough choices and be able to articulate a strong point of view both internally and externally - to leaders, peers, team members and suppliers/facilities.
Engage in supplier matrix optimization and influence business decisions through CFT collaboration based on business needs and quality performance.
Steer decision effectiveness and efficiency; take smart risk based on facts, figures and guest insights through critical thinking .
Provide expertise to validate CFT’s business decision and increase supply matrix visibility through facility assessment.
Engage in new vendor/factory vetting and exploration process that supports sourcing decision-making and long-range business plan.
3. Operational Excellence and Brand Reputation
Adapt to change and adhere to Target strategy, direction and business goals.
Continually focus on and demonstrate commitment to concepts of value creation.
Ensure transparency and adherence to escalation process when required.
Demonstrate the highest level of ethics; make ethics a mantra for TGT and supply chain.
Escalate critical issues concerning ethics, through the proper channels.
ABOUT YOU:
Education
Bachelor degree or above (Preferred in Textile Technology, Textile Chemistry or similar)
Experience
Min 10 years of total experience including fabric manufacturing with key focus on fabric processing area
Good experience of fabric & yarn manufacturing process/testing/quality control/process improvement
Good experience of facility assessment and drive process improvement program
Knowledge
Different fabric categories like denim, woven, knit, synthetics etc in terms of manufacturing and testing
Supply chain knowledge for finished fabric
Advance work practices in industry about sustainability
Latest developments in industry in terms of machine manufacturing, equipment for testing etc.
Hard skills
Training and coaching skills to facilitate change at facility level
Good knowledge of data usage & analytics
Good speed and knowledge about Microsoft office
Soft skills
Interpersonal skills - listening, communicating, influencing and facilitating improvement - in person or remotely
Good analytical mindsets on assessing situations and finding root causes
Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, organizational, problem-prevention and problem-solving skills.
