A role with the Trend team means bringing forward the creative concepts that capture brand and business opportunities to achieve both style goals and financial targets. Can you pitch that next big thing that’s differentiated from the marketplace and totally unique to Target? Are you super-savvy when it comes to identifying business shifts, key initiatives, new product concepts, limited-time offers and seasonal trends? Do you love to stay in touch with benchmarks and a step ahead of market trends through regular competitive shopping and other inspiration sources to pick up on patterns? Then you’ll love a role on the Trend team where your inspiration translates into saleable offerings guests will love. Here, you’ll help deliver a seasonal assortment strategy that drives sales and sets Target apart from the crowd. Your focus on relevance and your talent for staying keyed in to the style buzz will provide direction on business shifts, must-have initiatives and new product concepts. You’ll help guide Target’s seasonal focus and communicate what our next big idea should look and feel like.

As a Director, Trend, you will lead a team and divisions through trend and brand concepts that deliver on ‘good, better, best’ and ‘core, must have fashion’ strategies. You will manage the integrity of Target Brands through the appropriate point of view (and point of difference) by guest segment. In this role, you will create consistency across divisions within each brand, big idea or special project. You will develop and execute seasonal timing and action calendars, manage resources, meet all deadlines and drive continuous improvement. You will drive financial and style results via creative concepts for brands and businesses that are differentiated from the marketplace and unique to Target, and you’ll manage communication among internal design teams, external partners, Merchants, Target Sourcing Services (TSS), Marketing, Corporate Branding, and Packaging. You’ll have the opportunity to do all of this while leading, developing and managing your team; setting clear objectives, provide ongoing performance feedback and evaluating potential.

About you:
• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Arts or related degree, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in product development in a retail or wholesale environment, with a successful track record
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability of design and business teams
• Demonstrated ability to identify trends and creative ability with strong commercial sense
• In-depth knowledge of design and product development processes
• Experience understanding the consumer
