A role with the Pricing & Promotion Center of Excellence (COE) means you’re on a mission with merchants to develop the enterprise-wide pricing and promotion strategies. Your work will impact millions of dollars in the form of everyday retail prices, promotional strategy and effectiveness, clearance management and competitive pricing. Here, you’ll be a key business consultant to merchants and develop relationships with buyers, senior buyers and leaders. Your strong partnership with Marketing will bring offers to life for guests, and you’ll also work closely with Store Operations, Finance and other key support areas.
As the leader selected for this newly created position of Strategy Lead- Enterprise Promo, you will help shape the future of the Promotion strategy creation function across the enterprise. By collaborating with the PPCOE teams, cross functional partners and external data sources you will be the centralized function that will ensure Target’s promotional strategies are compelling, competitive, relevant, financially sound and communicated effectively through partners to internal audiences and to our guests. This role will lead the weekly and monthly routines, insight generation, merchandising pyramid integration and cross-functional partnerships to bring the 52 week enterprise roadmap to life. You will be a trusted advisor and integrator for how to best implement the Promo strategy across all relevant internal stakeholders and cross functional partners.
Success in this role will require a high degree of orchestration across all functions of the PPCOE to operationalize our strategies as well as to guide the work of partners who amplify the strategies to our guests. This role will create and use an analytic fact base to facilitate strategy setting, decision making, opportunity sizing and communication in relevant forums. This role will require a delicate and active balancing act to manage the competing priorities of managing the weekly Merchandising P&L while remaining competitive and compelling to support and deliver Target’s brand and value proposition.
Finally, this role is expected to continuously innovate processes, tools and build partnerships to improve the inputs and outputs of the strategy.

About you:
• Four-year degree or equivalent work experience, experience in Apparel/Footwear industry preferred
• 6+ years previous merchandising experience (e.g. buyer, sales & operations, pricing, planning)
• Experience leading complex projects and enterprise strategies
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maximize relationships, experience working in matrix organizations, self-starter
• Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills
• Entrepreneurial spirit with keen interest in innovating the business; strong strategic, analytical, decision-making, project management and planning skills
