The Food & Beverage Direct Store Delivery (DSD) team helps bring food experiences to life for Target guests. As the owners of the process for all DSD projects plans, we evolve the food experience at Target by fostering strong cross-functional relationships and bringing the right minds together. We gain alignment on our shared roadmap, goals and metrics in support of our vision. And our positive influence helps reframe problems, explore new possibilities and create guest experiences only found at Target.
As a Principal Strategist for DSD, working alongside the VP of DSD, you will be responsible for the creation and improvement of DSD end to end operations by coordinating efforts across team members in food operations, stores and merchandising through problem solving and execution of initiatives. You will define standards, expectations and consequences with our merchandise teams, as well as with our DSD vendor teams to address operational gaps in execution through setting targets and helping to plan, monitor and improve on proposed solutions. As Principal Strategist, you will collaborate with internal and external operations teams towards definition and coaching of sales floor / backroom best practices, establish closed-loop escalation processes, optimize vendor service/delivery schedules, allocation of DSD backroom space, and initiate DSD specific POG standards.
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience
- 8-15+ years of Direct Store Delivery with extensive end to end retail experiences
- F&B DSD experience in operations, understanding the retail/vendor relationship, product receiving standards and backroom org responsibilities
- Strong strategic and analytical skills to grow a business
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional team
- Flexible, resilient and comfortable working in ambiguity and an environment of constant change
- Experience in store operations; from the guest, to sales and profits
