About the Job

We are seeking multipleSenior UX Managers for our guest and team member experience teams. As a manager you’ll have responsibility for the success of a team of designers in a specific product area (currently seeking managers focused on Post Purchase Guest experiencesand Supply Chain Team Member experiences). In this role you will…

  • Provide regular, effective feedback, check-ins and reviews for people who report to you
  • Coach team members to increase their impact, develop their design and soft skills to grow their careers
  • Provide day to day coaching and direction that elevates the design work of your team
  • Educate and advocate for what your team needs to be successful
  • Leverage data and insights to influence strategy and experience creation on behalf of the Guest and Team Member
  • Develop and maintain lightweight, repeatable processes, workflows and templates that enable your team to maximize their impact and satisfaction (often in partnership with other design leaders)
  • Foster team connection and a sense of purpose and belonging
  • Identify risks/blockers for yourself and your team and clear them with urgency
  • Prioritize your team’s time and focus, placing team members on results-oriented work that complements their skills, career ambitions and growth opportunities
  • Build and maintaintrusted relationships with cross-functional partners and senior leaders
  • Build the team and skills needed for long-term growth
  • Recruit, hire and onboard highly talented people
  • Champion equity, diversity and inclusion across your team and Target

About You

  • 7+ years of experience in digital software product workwith user experience emphases in research, UX architecture, interaction design and/or visual design
  • Examples of successful UX team leadership and development
  • Demonstrated understanding of how and whento use UX methods,research and testingto inform your team’s work
  • Emotional intelligence—the ability to truly understand what each individual on your team needs to thrive and feel fulfilled
  • Aportfolio of projects that showcases your team’s design approach, work and impact
  • A demonstrated ability to lead initiatives end-to-end and with cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and oral)
  • Dedicated to people management as a critical part of your role; able to assess and grow talent
  • Comfortable working without formal requirements or top-down decisions
  • Bonus points: 1+ year experience managing a UX design team

This position may be considered for a Full-Time Remote or Hybrid work arrangement based on Target’s needs.  A Hybrid work arrangement means the team members core role will be a blend of virtual and onsite at a Target location.A Full-Time Remote work arrangement means the team member works full-time from home or an alternate location that’s not a Target location, does not have a desk at their primary HQ work location and may travel to HQ up to 4 times a year. 

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only:The salary range for Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada residents is$105,800-$190,400Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Target cares about and invests in you as a team member, so that you can take care of yourself and your family.
