As a Senior Art Director focused on Campaign/Brand work, you will drive Target’s marketing presence, defining and creating the way guests experience our brand. From a business perspective, you’ll develop innovative and effective executions that build brand equity, strengthen guest loyalty, and ultimately drive sales. Creatively—you’ll bring big, innovative ideas to life by crafting themes, concepts, photography, and design that solve strategic challenges and celebrate Target’s brand. Working with a collaborative team of Copywriters, Production Artists, Project Managers, Strategists, and Associate Creative Directors, you’ll develop advertising campaigns for Television, Digital and Social environments. You’ll pitch ideas to leaders, share them with partners and guide the work through every phase of production.
In this position, you’ll ultimately champion the company’s purpose, values, and direction while supporting Target Creative’s strategies, goals, and objectives. You must be comfortable in creative white space, and have the ability to take on a wide range of work and balance a large capacity of work across all media types. You must be able to share ideas clearly and confidently. You’ll be challenged to stay current with cultural and advertising trends. You’ll seek creative solutions to overcome obstacles. You’ll also provide feedback and mentorship guidance to enhance the skills development of your creatives peers. Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. - 4-year college degree and/or equivalent experience
- 5 -7 years of creative experience
- Portfolio of creative work showcasing exceptional creative and conceptual ideas across a wide range of business or brand categories and channels
- Strong conceptual skills and expertise in typography and use of photography
- Deep knowledge and expertise of best practices across all media types
- Idea-first creative approach and be able to apply a strategic lens to creative
- Skilled in managing and executing complex projects at many different stages
- Comfortable working within white space and with ambiguity
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to provide feedback, coaching and guidance to enhance others’ skill development, including mentorships.
- Ability to take on stretch into leading project work.
- Flexible to travel (weekends included)
