A role in Global Transportation and Logistics means you will play a key role in supporting Target’s direct import program, maintaining the speed of our best-in-class import supply chain. You will Interface with internal partners, carriers, and merchandise vendors to execute International air freight shipments from overseas vendor sites through delivery into Target’s domestic network.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Support initiatives and functions related to import merchandise flow, purchase order/system inquiries and international carrier transportation management.
-Support the execution of International air freight shipments from overseas vendor site through delivery into Target’s domestic network
-Develop, document, and implement best practices for new initiatives and core activities across First Mile Transportation.
-Interface with inventory management, merchandise operations, suppliers, and vendors to execute enterprise to distribution level initiatives.
-2+ years of business experience in sourcing/buying, supply chain, logistics, or transportation
-Strong communication and collaboration
-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Visio, and Word applications
-Strong problem solving skills
-Knowledge of Logistics and Transportation Management systems
Reports to Director International Logistics.
Works closely with: Inbound Logistics teams (Global and HQ), Inventory Management Operations, Buying/Sourcing, Domestic Transportation and Global Trade Services.
