As a Senior Manager, Associate Creative Director – Digital Copywriting, you will leverage your deep digital and ecommerce expertise to be a driving force in Target Creative by leading a team of Digital Copywriters who support Target.com, the Target app, email, push and digital innovation. You will support and develop the Digital Copywriters on your team along with leading digital and e-commerce copy-specific projects, creating breakthrough marketing and experiences for our brands and categories. You will articulate Target’s brand to infuse the work with an unmistakable Target approach and will be responsible for building and further defining Target’s voice across all digital and ecommerce channels, acting as a consultant in the shaping and sharing of style guides and best practices. You will be looked to as the digital point person for copy on high-profile and/or business critical projects, leading within ambiguity and clarifying copy points of view.You’ll coach and evaluate work through the lens of creative, but also guest journey and marketing goals. You’ll build and maintain partnerships across Marketing, Digital, Site Merchandising and within Target Creative leadership. You will work to evolve how we create work, approaching content creation in new, faster and more efficient ways. You will establish strategies for achieving individual and team goals that align to the broader Target Creative vision and drive successful outcomes.

Critical to this role is having a deep expertise and application of e-commerce and digital-specific best practices and tools, staying current with retail & digital media trends and experiences and being a passionate advocate for great copy and creative. We’ll support you along the way with personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Senior Manager, Associate Creative Director – Digital Copywriting.

About you:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of digital copywriting experience across a wide range of digital channels and ecommerce

  • Deep expertise creating within all digital channels, especially ecommerce, push, email and digital innovation

  • Expertise within digital-specific tools and technology and ability to learn, apply and iterate within the tools required

  • Ability to guide and coach digital and ecommerce writing and creative at a high-level and apply a critical eye to creative work

  • Refined presentation and negotiation skills, and the ability to align partners in high stakes moments

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and develop people, including providing meaningful feedback and managing performance

  • Ability to lead a team through challenging and ambiguous moments, with strong leadership qualities including management and interpersonal skills

  • Proactive at seeking solutions to improve processes and elevate the work

  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating breadth of creative capabilities, with a focus on ecommerce copywriting, digital creative and innovation
