We help protect Target and its subsidiaries by applying our comprehensive understanding and interpretation of the laws that govern our stores, distribution centers and corporate locations. From brand and patent law to contract development and negotiations, you’ll be challenged and gratified by a role with Target Legal Affairs.

A role in Enterprise Risk Management means you will help protect Target by supporting the identification, assessment and management of a portfolio of top strategic, financial, operational, compliance, reputational and event based risks the company faces. You will also play a key role in facilitating the company’s holistic Enterprise Risk Management program, strengthen the company’s risk acumen and provide strategic direction to company leaders on the most important risks.

Recommends, implements and supports continuous improvement and maturity of the risk framework and lifecycle activities (e.g., identify, assess & prioritize, treat, and monitor & test), and enterprise risk portfolio (e.g. trends, interdependencies, impacts, gaps, and other relationships) Enhances access to and display of risk information, including the integration of critical risk information into risk databases Supports the development of accessible online tools for the organization to access risk information Owns ongoing quality control across quarterly communication channels, and related documents, ensuring consistency across all documents and with Target’s risk framework to enable Risk Leadership interaction with senior leadership and the Board of Directors Creates and executes enterprise wide training to ensure consistency and adoption of the Enterprise Risk framework, and program consistency; and manages continuous alignment routines with 2nd and 3rd line partners Leads the development of the annual Risk Identification Survey Supports risk assessments, key initiatives, risk based decision support/planning, process improvements and other assigned projects as needed related to Target’s Enterprise Risk program and strategies, such as facilitating meetings, coordinating communications, and collaborating with cross-company working teams

About you:

  • B.A/B.S degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Experienced in driving results through collaborating across departments, facilitating large group sessions, and working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage execution and implement multiple initiatives at the same time with strong accuracy and completeness
  • Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with senior leadership level Strong analytical aptitude and demonstrated creative problem solving skills 3
  • -6 years general business experience

DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

  • Risk management certification

  • Two years relevant ERM experience

  • Master's degree in a related field or JD degree

  • Experience in retail or corporate environment working in matrixed operation
