About Us:

Target is an iconic brand, a Fortune 50 company, and one of America’s leading retailers.

Target Global Supply Chain and Logistics is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how we get the right product to the guest even better, faster, and more cost effectively than before. We are becoming more intelligent, automated, and algorithmic in our decision-making, so that no matter how guests shop—in stores or on Target.com—we deliver the convenience and immediate gratification they demand and deserve. We are on a mission to win decisively over any competitor with a seamless and superior guest service experience unlike any they can offer. Our teams work with the agility our mission requires, and we constantly come together to implement new processes in record time. So we’re looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy, and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity. Are you a critical thinker who seeks the root cause and can analyze both qualitatively and quantitatively? Are you a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems, quickly identifies solutions, commits to a plan and then positively influences others to execute it? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams.

A role on the supply chain operations team means you will have the opportunity to contribute to a progressive team that’s adding smart and capable people all the time. You will leverage your analytical capabilities to design and deploy supply chain measures within our value stream and analyze data to solve highly complex business problems related to performance and quality. You will work directly with our field teams to utilize leading and lagging supply chain metrics and then work with data and business intelligence partners to apply those metrics across Target’s network. Your role will heavily involve working the data, extracting business insights from data, solving problems, gap analysis, and constantly evaluating what additional visibility is needed to drive business performance.

As an Operational Excellence (OpEx) Manager, you’ll be responsible for coordination of continuous improvement activities within the site in support of optimized safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Your objective will be to support a self-reliant culture of continuous improvement at the site by demonstrating a relentless commitment to continuous improvement principles, methods, and tools all while developing OpEx capability at the site. Through opportunity identification, cross-functional team alignment, workshop facilitation, and implementation of sustainable work standards, you’ll help the site close any gaps on expected performance.  By leading complex problem solving initiatives, you’ll help improve operations within our supply chain. You’ll need to leverage your strong analytical thinking and your ability to engage and connect with others as you coach and guide your team through change and manage project teams to success. Part of your role will be supporting the design, implementation, and sustainment of management systems and standardized operations. You will play a key role in building sustainable OpEx capabilities with your site leaders and team members through a combination of formalized training and practical involvement in your problem solving activities.  When needed, you’ll also help support distribution center day to day operations.

We’ll support you along the way with robust onboarding as well as personal and career development to help you grow as a strong leader at Target. The exciting part of retail is that it’s always changing!  Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description, and duties may change at any time due to business needs.

  • 3+ years of work experience in supply chain
