A role within the Assets Protection team means being part of a team that deliver a safe and secure culture in every supply chain building, build a culture of awareness and actionable insights to mitigate shortage risks in order to drive sales, improve accuracy and in-stocks through theft prevention and resolution, and lead through crisis events to protect our guest, team and brand.
As an Assets Protection Director supporting Global Supply Chain & Logistics, you will be a part of a diverse team who put integrity and ethics at the heart of everything they do. You will develop and communicate AP strategies and priorities, including tactical plans and expectations, to your team, peers and leadership across multiple teams. You will be financially accountable by prioritizing and driving continuous improvement. You will experience leading a large remote team in Assets Protection through multiple layers, across multiple markets and establish a culture of accountability through hiring, setting clear expectations, talent & development strategies and performance management. Through training and validation, your team will be able to anticipate and identify shortage risks in key building processes and developing tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales; lead a shortage prevention and resolution culture.
The role of an Assets Protection Director will provide you with:
Lead Field Assets Protection Business Partners and Sr. Assets Protection Managers for GSCL
Experience creating talent strategies in multi-unit markets building skills in recruiting, selecting and talent development for exempt leaders in Assets Protection
Role will require enterprise collaboration across Headquarters, GSCL, and Stores partnersat the regional level
Skills in business financials (e.g., payroll, profit & loss) and driving shortage reduction
Skills in creating business and region-specific strategies by leveraging data and leading a team of Assets Protection Directors to deliver results in their markets
Experience managing a large remote team in Assets Protection/GSCL through multiple layers, in multi-unit markets across a region
Ability to influence and provide thoughtful feedback to key partners and senior leaders (e.g., Regional/Group leadership, HR, HQ) to support company strategies and Assets Protection initiatives
Set strategic direction enabling field teams to lead and develop tactics to reduce shortage and drive profitable sales, ensuring product is in stock and available for our guests
Make strategic decisions that drive operational and financial results for Target and empower teams to achieve goals
Sponsor talent strategies that fuel Target’s growth including leadership development, clear expectations and accountability to established goals
Lead a team of leaders who cultivate a safe and secure culture, and educate, drive and validate a culture of emergency preparedness and physical security
Attract and retain talent; lead a confident and skilled AP team remotely that enables a frictionless environment, supports GSCL teams and delivers a profitable business
Foster a coaching culture and teaching for all levels of AP in order to deliver on priorities
Cultivate an environment of ownership by empowering the team to adjust priorities and address problems openly to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance. Lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment

4 year degree or equivalent experience
6+ years of retail loss prevention / assets protection experience
Must be willing to travel
Ability to lead strategic vision and drive organizational change
Proven success in influencing key business partners
Experience establishing and maintaining cross-functional working relationships
Experience quickly adapting to changing priorities and tasks
Experience working in high intensity situations with composure and ease
